Our highly regarded Financial Services Transactions team is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious lawyer to join our growing team.

About the role

The Financial Services Transactions team undertakes high-value, complex and regulatory-driven transactional work for financial institutions, including leading UK and international insurers and reinsurers. In addition, the team advises banks and insurers on regulatory capital considerations and the regulatory capital treatment of transactions.
We have particular expertise in advising clients on life, annuity and pensions transactions – and are acknowledged as market leaders in the pensions/longevity risk transfer market (where the value of transactions was over £35 billion in 2019 alone).   
Clients include Legal & General, Pension Insurance Corporation, Zurich Insurance Group, Deutsche Bank AG, Allianz Risk Transfer, Phoenix Life, Scottish Widows, Pacific Life Re, Insight Investment Management, RGA, SCOR and others.

Your role will be client-facing with high levels of responsibility and involvement in client development and pitch work.

About you

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven candidate to quickly gain experience and take on responsibility. A background in financial regulation, corporate finance, corporate insurance, derivatives, pensions or banking and finance is therefore likely to be helpful. The ideal candidate will have:
• An enthusiasm for the financial institutions sector.
• Excellent legal, technical and transaction managements skills.
• Appetite for developing expertise within in a team-based, collegiate environment.
• Commercial and intellectual curiosity.
• Good interpersonal skills and desire and ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
• Strong analytical ability.
