About the role
Our leading Financial Services team is busier than ever, from helping our clients to develop new products and services to assisting them with significant regulatory, transactional and/or operational change projects. There promises to be even more work over the next few years. For example, the implementation of new ESG requirements is leading to the design and launch of new funds and other products targeted on that space, as well as work bringing existing funds and products into line. The emergence of new Fintech solutions is changing how financial institutions and their clients and service providers operate, and challenging regulators in how to ensure that they supervise those institutions appropriately. Specialist transactional work will be driven by changes in regulatory capital requirements and post-Brexit restructuring, as well as continued market consolidation and rationalisation. With CMS’s specialist regulatory expertise and large international footprint, we are well placed to help our clients deal with whatever the future holds.
As a result, the team is now looking to expand at all levels. In particular, we are looking for Associates and Senior Associates who want to specialise in non-contentious regulatory and/or specialist transactional work for financial institutions. You will have exposure to a wide variety of work, including: advising on authorisation and conduct of business requirements, corporate governance, regulatory capital, client money and assets, new product design and distribution, cross border business, insider dealing and market abuse, anti-money laundering/financial crime, as well as the regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and outsourcings.
CMS is known for its particularly supportive and collaborative team approach with ambitious plans for growth and excellent long-term career prospects.
