We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified lawyer (NQ-PQE 3) to join our Energy and Projects team.

About the role

We are ranked Band 1 by Legal 500 for Energy and Projects.
This is a great opportunity to work as part of an experienced and friendly team advising clients on all types of energy projects including onshore and offshore wind; district heating; energy from waste; combined heat and power projects as well as complex infrastructure projects in the transport (road, rail, shipping and aviation); housing; education; health and waste sectors. 
You will be based in Glasgow but will work on projects throughout the UK and with an international dimension.
Our Energy and Projects Team acts for many of the largest developers, funders and contractors in the market as well as public sector bodies throughout the UK and beyond. The transaction based work is client facing; varied; fast-paced; and challenging. 
The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other groups throughout CMS and providing first class professional service for our clients in  the  energy and infrastructure sectors. You will draft and negotiate a wide variety of  documents and organise and attend completion meetings across the UK and overseas.

CMS has a global footprint and lawyers at all levels are given the opportunity to build a firm network through attending learning and development courses in other CMS jurisdictions with colleagues in other offices.

About you

The ideal candidate will: 

- be admitted  (or be about to be admitted) as a lawyer to the Law Society of Scotland or the Law Society  of England & Wales, working in the private sector; in-house;  public sector; or in local government.

- be NQ - PQE 3;

- have experience in all or some of: energy projects; infrastructure projects; construction; public procurement; or have had some exposure to these areas of practice during your traineeship;

- be hard working, enjoy a challenge and be happy to work as part of a team to meet deadlines;

- be well-organised; logical; practical; and proactive;

- have excellent attention to detail;

- have good written and oral communication skills; and

- be willing to attend business development events and start building their own network.
