Our Finance practice group is recruiting a Paralegal to provide support to four of our teams; Capital Markets and Derivatives, FS Regulation, Pensions and Risk Transactions. 


About the role

Our award-winning pensions team is experienced in advising trustees and employers on all aspects of defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes. We also have considerable experience advising on group pensions, insurance products (including buy-in and buy-out arrangements), longevity products and other structures.

With leading practices in the UK’s two biggest financial services centres, London and Edinburgh, our FS Regulation team combines wholesale and retail, contentious and non-contentious expertise across banking, insurance, asset management and financial intermediation.

Our dedicated Capital Markets and Derivatives team offers a wide range of transactional and advisory services for all aspects of capital markets, derivatives, structured products and structured finance transactions.

Our Risk Transactions team is a specialist, multi-disciplinary team devoted to transactions in the domestic and international risk transfer market.
We are looking for a Paralegal who is keen to provide support to a number of lawyers across these disciplines in our London office. 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Document reviewing, checking and collating

- Assisting with file opening procedures

- Undertaking legal research

- Drafting deeds of appointment & removal as well as deeds of amendment and collating execution copies

- Drafting letters to clients

- Proof reading

- Providing support to a wide range of marketing initiatives

- Involvement with the billing process including writing bill narratives

- Administrative support as required

- Provide administrative support to our internal Know How portal


About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will have an interest/knowledge in financial markets and/or pensions law. You will have a keen eye for detail with the ability to use your initiative and must be used to dealing with a large workload. You will have a strong academic background including a degree in law and the LPC. The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic and interested in developing your knowledge and skills. This role would suit someone who has good communication and strong team working skills. With a flexible attitude and approach to work, you are able to effectively organise and prioritise whilst supporting multiple teams. At times you will be working to tight deadlines and will be required to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. As well as taking responsibility for proactively managing a significant and varied volume of work to defined timescales. 

Previous legal experience is beneficial but not essential.
