We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our Group Tax and Partnership Accounting team on a fixed term basis.  The purpose of this role is to specifically prepare tax returns and manage tax affairs for the firm's partners.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a number of stakeholders and gain further exposure into both UK and International Tax. 
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assisting the Corporate Tax Advisor with the preparation of the firm's UK tax computation
- Handling partner queries and responding to information requests
- Assisting the International Tax Advisor with the preparation of the Partners Tax Reserves
- Dealing with HMRC queries and providing partner tax payment information and tax charge information
- Dealing with partner queries and responding to information requests and mortgage reference requests
- Preparing partner induction information and ensuring a good handover of tax affairs when new partners join the firm

This role is fixed term for 18 months and can be based in Edinburgh or London.

About you

In order to be successful in this role you will have in-depth knowledge and experience in preparation of UK tax returns and the ability to manage a portfolio of Private Clients. 
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be comfortable working with complex information and have strong analytical skills. You will be confident in using your initiative, show good judgement and have the ability to function well under pressure. 
In addition to the above skills you will have the following technical knowledge/qualifications;
- Preferably CTA qualified although ACA or ACCA qualified with appropriate experience will also be considered
- Proficient in MS Office Applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to focus and concentrate when working with complex data
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work to given timeframes

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, confident in dealing with stakeholders at all levels and have the ability to grasp, retain and analyse complex information and concepts.
