We are looking for an experienced personal tax senior manager/manager to lead our tax offering to our partner team.
 
The successful candidate will be based in our Edinburgh office with occasional travel to our offices across the UK. 


About the role

Working directly with the Head of Tax and in tandem with other members of the tax and partner accounting team we are looking for an experienced tax professional to drive our service agenda for partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a bespoke service to the firm’s Partner team, encompassing tax returns, tax reserving and personal tax planning. 
Key responsibilities:
 
•    Ensuring the annual partner tax compliance process is well managed
•    Ensure that all partner queries are answered accurately and efficiently 
•    Educating partners on their tax position with HMRC and the firm, ensuring balances due by / to each are understood and documented 
•    Keeping partners informed proactively of developments that may impact their overall tax position 
•    Managing partner income tax and national insurance payments and liaise with other team members on tax reserving 
•    Assisting with the on boarding and exit of partners to include tax, reserving and capital issues 
•    Dealing with the affairs of our expatriate staff and managing external relationships 
•    Developing the team’s capability to deal with expatriate staff 
•    Managing the relationship with external tax advisors where necessary 
•    Driving change and improvements by taking charge of the compliance processes. 
•    Reviewing the financial policies, procedures and standards in relation to partner tax and accounting
•    Ensuring appropriate standards of financial stewardship across the partner finance balance sheet including appropriate controls, reconciliations and verification
•    Development and coaching of team members.
•    Bringing senior support to the wider tax team in developing and progressing its agenda
 


About you

Skills and experience:
 
•    Be technically outstanding with relevant finance/accounting knowledge and skills
•    Have the ability to ensure partner-related finance systems are compliant and meet accounting and tax requirements
•    Have strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to train staff 
•    Have an aptitude to find practical, innovative and pragmatic solutions whilst ensuring the integrity of finance is upheld
