Would you like to work for an innovative global law firm? We are looking for an experienced individual to be part of our Risk & Compliance team.
This role can be based in either our Sheffield or London office.   


About the role

The role supports the Head of Risk & Compliance and Joint General Counsel in identifying and managing the firm's regulatory, compliance and other professional risks and other ad hoc compliance issues and projects.  
This role focuses on advising the firm and partnership on a wide range of regulatory and risk issues.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring developments in relevant law, regulation, policy and market practice

- Assisting the Head of Risk with the regular monitoring and review of compliance with the firm's existing risk policies and procedures 

- Working with senior management across the firm to design and manage implementation of risk projects to respond to key areas of risk to the firm, regulatory developments or other thematic areas of strategic development or re-investment for the firm

- Responding to pitch queries relating to risk and regulatory issues.

- Taking primary responsibility for maintaining and updating the firm’s breach and risk register 

- Delivering firm-wide training on compliance and risk 

- Working as part of an internal cross-business-service team to look at the regulatory aspects of current and new international projects

- Working with the firm’s insurance brokers on the firm’s annual PI, Cyber and D&O policy renewals

- Leading on data protection and privacy issues: engaging and influencing partners, policy decisions, and managing any follow up tasks

- Providing ongoing advice and guidance to the firm on compliance topics within the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
 


About you

We are seeking an individual with experience in regulatory compliance, ideally concerning the SRA Handbook or similar regulatory regimes. A self-starter with a proactive approach to providing a legal service and managing the expectations of all audiences.
You will have 5-7 years’ experience working in risk management, preferably in an international firm.  You will be an effective project manager who can plan and prioritise workloads effectively, with knowledge of design, implementation or management of any technology-based compliance systems and processes. You should have excellent communication skills; have strong attention to detail, and the ability to demonstrate good judgement and business awareness.
